This production line is specifically designed for the continuous slot-die coating of CCM anode catalyst layers for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). It integrates the entire automated process, from substrate unwinding to finished-product rewinding.
Engineered with a strong focus on coating uniformity, process repeatability, and production stability, the line features a modular architecture and intelligent control system to support high-consistency, high-yield, and scalable catalyst-layer manufacturing.
It is well suited for membrane electrode assembly (MEA) manufacturers, research institutes, and pilot-scale production platforms, enabling efficient mass production while supporting continuous process development and optimization.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
1. Precision Coating Control
Equipped with a high-precision slot-die head featuring ±0.001 mm flatness and lip straightness, combined with a servo-driven lifting mechanism for 1 μm-level GAP adjustment. This ensures excellent catalyst-layer thickness uniformity and stable areal density across the coating width.
2. Closed-Loop Tension & Web Guiding Control
Servo-driven closed-loop constant-tension control is applied throughout the unwinding, coating, and rewinding processes. A high-precision EPC edge-position control system minimizes film stretching, wrinkling, edge wandering, and web misalignment, ensuring stable and accurate material transport.
3. Intelligent Slurry Feeding System
The slurry supply unit integrates pressure stabilization, constant-flow delivery, filtration, degassing, and circulation mixing. By minimizing pressure fluctuations and air bubbles within the delivery system, it helps prevent coating defects such as interruptions, streaks, and uneven coating.
4. In-Line Inspection & Traceability
The line can be integrated with X-ray areal-density measurement, machine-vision surface inspection for defects such as pinholes, missing coating, and scratches, as well as web-guiding monitoring. Critical process data is recorded in real time, with MES/OPC connectivity available for full-process traceability.
5. Recipe & User Access Management
The PLC + HMI control system supports rapid recipe changeover, multi-level user access control, alarm history, and process trend analysis. It enables flexible adaptation to different slurry formulations and product specifications.
