This three-in-one hot lamination line is designed for automatic, continuous bonding of the ion exchange membrane with sealing frames on both sides for vanadium, iron-chromium, or other flow batteries.
It precisely laminates the membrane with upper and lower insulating sealing frames (e.g., PP, PVDF, fluoroelastomer) through heating, pressing, and cooling to form a sealing-frame – membrane – sealing-frame structure in one step. The resulting membrane-frame assembly isolates electrolytes, prevents cross-mixing, and provides mechanical support and edge sealing.
The line integrates hot-melt adhesive cutting, frame feeding, membrane alignment, lamination, and in-line inspection for high-efficiency, consistent mass production.

Process Flow
●Automatic Unwinding/Feeding – Ion exchange membrane and upper/lower sealing frames (roll or sheet stock, optionally pre-coated with hot-melt adhesive) are precisely positioned via correction devices.
●Preheating – Three-stage preheating zones uniformly raise the material temperature to the set point, eliminating internal stresses.
●Hot Lamination – Dual heated rollers / flatbed lamination units apply accurate pressure and temperature to achieve bubble-free, high-bond-strength lamination of the sealing frame – ion exchange membrane – sealing frame three-layer structure.
●Cooling & Setting – Cooling rollers / cooling plate rapidly reduce the temperature to fix dimensions and shape, minimizing rebound deformation.
●In-line Inspection – Vision system inspects lamination position and surface defects; thickness sensors monitor uniformity.
●Fixed-length Cutting / Rewinding – Cut into sheets or rewind according to process requirements, delivering qualified membrane-frame assemblies (i.e., three-in-one assemblies).
